Painting

Metal painting decides how a finished piece looks. The same railing looks industrial in matte black and warm in aged brass. We paint SPICE products in two ways. One uses Italian paints for an aged brass colour. The other is classic RAL powder coating.

Aged brass finish

We use high-quality Italian paints for this finish. They recreate the warm, authentic look of naturally aged brass. The effect is applied by hand, so no two pieces are ever identical. It is a popular choice for railings, handles and decorative details. You get a luxurious look without the price of solid brass.

RAL powder coating

With powder coating we cover the entire RAL colour palette. The coating is durable and even across the whole surface. Colour is not the only thing that matters: the coating also forms a protective layer on the metal, noticeably increasing resistance to scratches, impacts and everyday wear. That makes it suitable for stairs, railings, doors and outdoor structures.

Matte, gloss or textured surface

For interior work we usually paint in a matte or semi-matte finish. Matte black hides fingerprints better. A gloss surface suits small decorative details better. A fine texture is also possible – it hides minor surface irregularities on large areas. We advise which gloss level suits a particular product.

Preparation before painting

A coating lasts only as long as the surface beneath it allows. Welds are ground, and the metal is carefully cleaned. Sharp edges are rounded so the coating adheres well. Skipped preparation is the most common reason a coating peels early. We never skip this stage.

What we paint

We paint stairs, railings, doors and partition frames, as well as mirror frames, light fixtures and furniture details. Large pieces are painted in parts and assembled on site. Small details are painted in sets so that the shade matches. Before starting the whole batch, we make a sample for approval. This avoids unpleasant surprises on site.

Care

Wiping a painted surface with a damp cloth is enough. Avoid abrasive cleaners and strong chemicals. Scratches can be touched up locally with the same paint. With proper care, the coating stays beautiful for many years.
